A visas or diplomatic visas are non-immigrant visas that are issued to foreign diplomats, ambassadors, or government officials looking to travel and enter the United States.
Types Of A Visas
There are three tiers of A visas which are offered to non-immigrants of varying levels of diplomatic status and government official categories. The ideal A visa required is based upon the non-immigrant’s status, category and purpose of travel.
A-1 Visa
In order to be issued an A-1 visa, the applicant must be a foreign ambassador, diplomat, high-level official or minister of the state. Applicants who obtain an A-1 visa may also bring their relatives or family members.
A-2 Visa
A-2 visas are designed for foreign government officials and their employees who wish to travel and enter the United States. This A visa classification may also honor applicants who are foreign military personnel on temporary assignment in the United States or immediate family members of those who hold an A Visa, who do not qualify for either an A-1 or A-3 visa.
A-3 Visa
A-3 visas can be issued to employees and or family members of foreign government officials who are granted either an A-1 or A-2 visa.
